Who we are ?

Pragya Vision was founded in Australia headed by Ven. Pragya Jyoti and his friends in 2005. It all began after a life changing trip to Myanmar, Thailand, Taiwan, Malayasia and Hong Kong in 1998-2004. A missionary, he saw that words alone were not necessarily good news to those without food, clothing, shelter or medicine. Ven. Pragya Jyoti concern for children was strengthened by his experiences in Bangladesh and India during the refugee period in India (1987-98).

When he arrived in Australia (2003). Ven. Pragya Jyoti started to raise money to help other families and orphans in Bangladesh and India. The response was so great that he could not administer it alone, so in January 2005, Pragya Vision was established with Ven. Pragya Jyoti as its president.

Pragya Vision expanded its operations to meet the needs of Internal refugees in Bangladesh and of people recovering from disasters in Bangladesh. Where long-term assistance was needed, children began to be sponsored by Americans, Australians and others.

In the 2005s, Pragya Vision's donated 6(six) Buddha Statues to Bangladesh and India from Thailand. Since than, the “welfare” approach has gradually changed to a more collaborative relationship. Poor, marginalised people and communities work with Pragya Vision to improve their lives and take control of their futures.
